After the parcels have been clipped (subset) to only the City of Sacramento, the next step is to select (query) only the parcels that have a Commercial land use type (from the land use type field) in the data. One could also use the Land Use General type data column (attribute) as well. Normally, the analyst is familiar with the data and understands the data fields and values. In this video, the land use “code” (type) is use. Commercial parcels have a land use code that begins with the letter “B.” The selection would be simpler if the Land Use General type was used, but the more common method of using the “code” is shown in the video.
